Linsay Deming is a producer, comedian, musician, and arts educator in Washington, DC. She is best known as the creator of Church Night, a provocative live comedy-variety show, and its companion web series, Church Night TV. The live production performs regularly in DC, NYC, and LA and has showcased internationally at Edinburgh Festival Fringe and at festivals in the US. Under her direction, the web series won Outstanding Comedy Series at LA Webfest, Best Web Series at Indie Capitol awards, Audience Choice Award at Miami Webfest, in addition to several other awards and nominations.
Linsay has been producing new media since 2008. Her body of work includes music videos, sketches, video flyers, vlogs, branded content, and two web series. She has produced multi-media content for DC-based production companies, Future View Inc. and Long Story Short Media. Currently, Linsay is the Manager of Digital Learning at the Smithsonian Institution’s Hirshhorn Museum's ARTLAB+ program and is the Director of ARTLAB+ Production Teams, a professional video production program serving disadvantaged youth from the DC area. In 2016 and 2017, Linsay was awarded a DC Commission on Arts and Humanities Artist Fellowship for her contributions to the local arts community.
Spanning the stage, film set, writer’s room, and editing suite, Linsay’s work seeks to merge several disciplines to create fresh and humorous content from a unique perspective with the goal of transforming an audience’s perception of tradition and culture. She is committed to working with talented local artists from all genders, races, abilities, and backgrounds who are typically underrepresented in the entertainment world.
